This project is a narrative visual story inspired by a tale my mother once told me, a Goan folktale about Gaavkar, a kindred spirit who watches over travellers and those lost or in need of help on lonely roads.

The short storybook reimagines this tale within the setting of my nani’s old house, where the story was first passed down to my mother. Blending personal memory with local myth, the project explores themes of protection, nostalgia, and intergenerational storytelling through a mix of illustration and narrative design, preserving a piece of Goan oral folklore in a deeply personal visual form.
